Ground will be broken in the next few weeks on the outbuildings at the Heritage Crossings of Green project, its developer said.
The retail development, being built at Massillon and Graybill roads, will be anchored by a new Acme Fresh Market store — the family-owned grocer’s first new location in 20 years.
Acme will cover 75,500 square feet at a cost of $10 million and is scheduled to be open by summer. The structure already has been built and work has begun on the inside of the building, said Joe Albrecht, vice president of retail properties for developer Albrecht Inc.
The retail development will include three outbuildings that total 30,000 square feet of space, nearly all of it committed or with letters of intent, Albrecht said.
Joining the development will be a mix of local, regional and national tenants, he said. Local tenants include Pav’s Creamery, which will be opening its second location in early July. It will be open year-round with interior and exterior seating.
Kasai Japanese Restaurant, which operates a location in Wadsworth, will bring its sushi and other menu items to Green with a full bar and an outdoor patio.
Local salon Nails 90 will add the Green location to its shop operating in the Montrose area.
Other tenants include a Starbucks with a drive-thru, a Jimmy John’s and a Sport Clips hair salon.
Albrecht said the development holds several letters of intent with retailers who remain confidential at this time.
One more endcap retail site remains available, he said.
“We are very happy with the businesses we have signed on to the project so far and are excited about the prospects that we’re currently working with to bring to the site,” he said. “The interest level is high, and it’s because we have a great development with a great location.
“The city of Green is growing,” Albrecht said. “It’s a great place to live and work, and it will continue to be one of the main successes of Northeast Ohio for the foreseeable future. Our company is excited to be part of the community.”
Albrecht said the outbuilding retailers should be open in July or August — about the same time as the Acme will open.
