GREEN: Besides acting on three major projects, the Planning and Zoning Commission also approved new signs for two existing businesses on Wednesday and recommended that City Council accept approval of a lot replat necessary because of a new storm water sewer to curb flooding.
Giant Eagle on Corporate Woods Parkway was given approval for a 57.5-square-foot freestanding sign at the corner of Corporate Woods Parkway and Corporate Woods Circle.
Also approved was a new 21-square-foot, double-sided sign for Marhofer Hyundai on South Arlington Road. The current sign will be removed as part of the transition, Planning Director Wayne Wiethe explained.
Service Director Randy Monteith said the replat for Mayfair Heights Allotment No. 2 was necessitated because of the installation of a new storm water pipe by the city to curb flooding of a Preemie Drive property.
Monteith said a sewer pipe was failing in the area south of a city easement and a new pipe was installed.
