AKRON: The Summit County Board of Elections certified the results of the Nov. 6 election Tuesday, and the one close race wasn’t close enough to require a recount.
A charter issue in Green picked up enough provisional votes to win by a large enough margin — 85 votes — that a recount wasn’t triggered.
The board must do a recount when the vote is separated by less than one-half of 1 percent.
The charter issue would allow Green to choose from a larger group of job candidates for civil service positions, rather than only considering the top performers.
The unofficial vote count had Issue 15 passing by 48 votes.
The official vote count includes provisional votes and absentee ballots received after the election but within the permissible time period.
